Entrance

WordPress block theme

A magazine theme
you edit in the editor

Entrance is a responsive magazine, news and blog theme built for full site editing. Twelve blog layouts, ten style variations and per-category accent colours — all changed from the WordPress editor, with no theme options panel to learn.

  • Requires WordPress 6.7+
  • PHP 7.4+
  • Block theme · FSE
  • GPLv2 or later

The magazine front page, built from the bundled “Front Page (Magazine)” pattern.

What you get

Built for editorial sites

Everything below is part of the theme itself — templates, patterns and style variations that WordPress already knows how to edit.

Full site editing

Header, footer, sidebar and every template are block templates. Edit them under Appearance › Editor — there is no separate options panel and no page builder to install.

Magazine front page

A ready-made “Front Page (Magazine)” pattern arranges a featured grid and per-category sections. Point each section at one of your own categories and it fills itself from recent posts.

Multiple blog layouts

List, grid and masonry — each with the sidebar left, right, or dropped entirely for full width. Swap between them from the Design panel while editing the template; nothing to code.

Ten style variations

Amber through Teal, each a complete recolour of the palette. Pick one in the editor’s Styles panel and the whole site follows, including buttons, links and section headings.

Per-category colours

Give each category its own accent colour and the theme uses it for that section’s heading on the front page and for the category labels on post cards and archives.

Style variations

Color palettes, one click

Every variation ships as a style file in the theme. Choose one under Appearance › Editor › Styles — or leave it unset and the theme keeps its default red accent.

Multiple ways to list your posts

Open the template your posts use — “Blog Home” or “Index” — then pick a layout from the Design panel and save. The same set is offered for the front page.

Details

The rest of the spec

  • Custom block styles. Widget search, square social links, widget headings, a main-menu navigation style, and filled or underlined headings for Flex Posts blocks.
  • Self-hosted assets. Open Sans and Bootstrap Icons ship with the theme, so pages render without calling out to a third-party CDN.
  • Header and footer patterns. Centered and minimal header variants, plus a footer pattern, all editable as template parts.
  • Complete template set. Index, home, single, page, page-no-title, archive, search and 404 — each with matching patterns.
  • Translation ready and RTL. Every string is localised and right-to-left languages are supported out of the box.
  • Custom logo, menus, threaded comments and featured image support, with wide and full-width block alignment.
